July, summer has come, for those of us from the good ol’ USofA we celebrate our Independence, Japan starts to finish up rainy season and our friends Down Under are hitting mid-winter.
And for those born in this month, the ruby is their stone. We all love the ruby, this red stone filled with mystery depth. Rubies are one of the highest valued gemstones after the diamond, and rank 9 on the Mos Scale of mineral hardness, just under the diamond.
We have a few rubies in our collection. Our rubies are not quite as red as the higher valued ones, a little ‘pinkier’, closer to our budget range, though I am keeping an eye on rubies at my supplier in hopes of snagging a redder strand sometime!
