Children’s Day in Japan: Kodomo no Hi

My littlest man and I took the day off and headed into Osaka City to celebrate Children’s Day: こどもの日 with friends. The festival we attended at Nakanoshima Park was pretty lively and fun, lots of food, people, characters dressed up, kids games and rides, and the beautiful rose gardens.IMG_4917

We started off with about an hour ride on the trains to get to our location.

We met a Red Ninja guy who posed for a photo!

We ate some awesome matsuri festival food!

I snapped a shot of the Kitahama Retro British Tea House that is over 100 years old and considered a cultural asset.

We managed one photo of the roses!

And of course no festival is complete without kaki-gori shaved ice! This one in melon flavor (I think he does this cause he knows I won’t eat melon flavor!)
